Johnson Bros. play Banner Elk July 8
The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce's Fourth Summer Concert in the Park will be on Thursday, July 8, featuring high-energy, family-oriented bluegrass from the Johnson Brothers.
Alan and Kenny Johnson have been playing bluegrass around the High Country for more than 25 years. Alan took his musical ability to Nashville and performed with the likes of Lorrie Morgan, Doug Stone, Doyle Lawson and many others. The Johnsons reside in Avery County and are currently employed with the United States Postal Service.
The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. at the stage behind Bank of America on N.C. 194, and concert-goers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and coolers. Food will also be available for purchase at the concert. Raffle tickets can be purchased for prizes, as well as for the 50/50 split of the "pot."
The sponsor of this concert is Vivo's, a gourmet eatery and wine cellar, located in downtown Banner Elk on N.C. 194.
The next concert, scheduled for Thursday, July 15, will feature authentic Dixieland jazz from The Blue Notes, sponsored by Vistas at Banner Elk.
