Jazz Ensemble held Nov. 3

The Appalachian State University Hayes School of Music presents Jazz Ensemble I in concert Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. in Farthing Auditorium on campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

The ensemble is directed by Todd Wright and will feature Rick Dilling on drums and Andy Page on guitar. Dilling and Page are adjunct instructors in the Hayes School of Music.

Pieces to be performed include "Children of the Night" by Wayne Shorter, "Freddie Freeloader" by Miles Davis, "Diminuendo in Blue" by Duke Ellington, "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin, "Birks Works" by Dizzy Gillespie, "Brother Hubbard" by Kenny Garrett, "A Little Minor Booze" by Willie Maiden, "Kid from Redbank" by Neal Hefti and "Josie" by Walter Becker and Donald Fagan.
