It’ll be an inventive and imaginative summer for Green Mother Goods.

On the first Friday of each month, from May 4 through Oct. 5, the earth-friendly Boone business, in conjunction with the Inventive-n-Imaginative Collective Co-op, will host the First Friday Artist Market.

The market will run from 5 to 10 p.m., featuring an array of artist and craft vendors exhibiting their goods to the public. According to Green Mother Goods, “This is an open-air market where patrons can enjoy the nightlife of Boone, in addition to the ambience of live music.”

The tune for this Friday is mountain bluegrass, but in the key of giving. Each month, a local nonprofit organization will host a booth to raise awareness for its cause, while an accompanying raffle will serve to benefit the organization. This Friday, market-goers can try for a prize and help N.C. Friends of Midwives in the process.

Inventive-n-Imaginative Collective Co-op invites artists and crafters to join the lineup, with 10- by 10-foot booth spaces available. According to the co-op, vending-fee proceeds go toward building community projects through arts and natural living education. For more information, email (friday@ayanahessence.com)
