High Country Small Plate Crawl
The inaugural Small Plate Crawl is coming to the High Country
Sept. 4 to 6, inviting foodies to crawl from restaurant to restaurant, sampling the best of the High
Country’s culinary scene.
Participating restaurants will offer special small-plate menus priced from $3 to $8, showcasing their cuisine and chefs’ talents.
Each restaurant welcomes crawlers all three days during the same block of time: 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. (all day), 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (lunch hours) or 5 to 9 p.m. (dinner hours). See details on the Crawl Passport.
Simply print the Crawl Passport ( http://platecrawl.com/passport) and maps (http:// platecrawl.com/maps) at http://www.PlateCrawl.com. A Crawl Passport is not required, but is needed to enter the prize drawing. Prizes will be listed on the crawl website. Patrons should present the Passport when purchasing small plates for validation., and can buy a small plate at five or more restaurants to qualify for a prize drawing.
Participating restaurants are located in Blowing Rock, Boone and Valle Crucis. According to organizers, groups and sharing are OK, so patrons don’t get too full before trying all their favorite restaurants and the ones they’ve always wanted to try.
Nonperishable food will be collected at each restaurant during the crawl for the Hunger and Health Coalition of Boone.
The event is rain-or-shine event because, as organizers said, “Small plates taste just as great no matter what the weather.”
