High Country Job Fair April 5
Spring is a time of new beginnings and renewal. What about
starting a new career?
The High Country Workforce Development System is hosting the High
Country Job Fair on Friday, April 5, from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, located
at 1050 N.C. 105 in Boone. The event is free and open to the both job seekers and businesses.
The job fair is an opportunity for area businesses with job openings to advertise to a
captive audience of job seekers who will be able to talk one on one with company representatives and
fill out applications.
To date, more than 100 positions are available through
employers, such as Appalachian/Brian Estates, Appalachian State University, AppalCART, Belk Inc.,
Catawba County Staffing, Convergys, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Glenbridge HealthCare, Lowe’s
Companies Inc., Lowe’s Home Centers, Tarheel Capital and Watauga County Schools.

Watauga JobLink will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the different services offered
at JobLink.
Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their
resume to share with participating employers. To help prepare for the big day, Watauga
JobLink is offering a Resume 101 workshop on March 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. Space is limited for the
