High Country High School Chorale performs May 12

The High Country High School Chorale performs May 12 at ASU.

The High Country High School Chorale will perform May 12 at Appalachian State University.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center's Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free. A reception will follow in the lobby.

The chorale is directed by Pamela Hopton-Jones. Laura Coston is the accompanist. The chorale is comprised of Watauga County school students from the eighth through 12th grades.

The program includes John Leavitt's "Festival Sanctus," "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" from "Wyeth's Repository of Sacred Music," "Dodi Li" an Israeli song based on text from the Song of Solomon, the Zambian folksong "Bonse Aba," a medley of American folk songs and the patriotic "America, The Spirit Lives On!," among others.
