Dogs love to be well behaved, and they look to their masters for guidance.

So says the Watauga Humane Society, which is offering dogs and their human pals two fun-filled – and indoor – winter canine behavior improvement classes, presented by John Quy of Little Horse Creek Farm.

The first class, Dog Obedience Training, runs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, Jan. 21 and 28 and Feb. 4 and 11 at the Watauga Humane Society’s new Irma Baker Lyons Adoption and Education Center. Registration costs $150 for dogs adopted from a shelter or rescued, and $200 for all others.

The second class, Canine Good Citizen, runs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 25, March 3, 10 and 17, also at the adoption and education center. Registration costs $150 for dogs adopted from a shelter or rescued, and $200 for all others.

A portion of proceeds from both classes will benefit the Watauga Humane Society. The WHS Adoption and Education Center is located at 312 Paws Way in Boone.
