Girl Scout Troop 10807, along with local restaurants, will partner together for an exciting night of cookie creativeness during the fourth annual Girl Scout Cookie Challenge on Saturday, May 21, at St. Elizabeth Church in Boone.

Using their choice of Girl Scout Cookies, area chefs must use their talents to incorporate the cookies into new desserts, which will be sampled by the audience and critiqued by a panel of judges. The winning recipe will receive the 2011 Golden Cookie Award. Last year's award went to Zuzda's (of Banner Elk) Magic Cookie Bars.

Guests will be able to sample more than a dozen creations created by some of the area's finest restaurants.

The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and tickets must be purchased in advance. Ticket prices are $10 each. All proceeds will go to help Troop 10807 girls earn money for a trip to Atlanta, Ga. Attire for the event is business casual.

The evening will also feature a silent auction with donations from many local businesses.
