Ginny McCormack to sign cookbooks in Blowing Rock
Ginny McCormack will sign copies of her cookbook, ‘Sunday in the South,’ Oct. 4 in Blowing Rock.
The Appalachian Women’s Fund (AWF) and High Country Women’s
Fund (HCWF) are celebrating the joyous tradition of Sunday dinner.
“Sunday in the South” is
Ginny McCormack’s newest cookbook, featuring a selection of menus, recipes, techniques and table
suggestions to help readers create classic, memorable Sunday dinners.
Brimming with more than
350 full-color photographs, the cookbook, as event organizers say, is a feast for the eyes, as well
as the palette.
McCormack is a cooking instructor, speaker, food columnist, author
of “Sunday in the South,” host of GinnyMcCormackCooks.com and editor of the online food
magazine, Food Lover. She teaches and writes about the art of Southern hospitality and new
Southern cuisine. McCormack has appeared nationally as a cooking instructor on Family Net
television.
The book signing takes place at Serves You Right! (1179 Main St.) in Blowing Rock
on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ten percent of proceeds from store and cookbook sales
will go to AWF and HCWF.
High Country Women’s Fund works to create positive change for women
and their families in Avery and Watauga counties. The group endeavors to inspire, educate and
empower women toward self-sufficiency by connecting them with local resources and caring women in
the community.
Appalachian Women’s Fund is a philanthropic catalyst for social change and
economic justice with the goal of creating a community where all women and girls reach their full
potential. AWF serves seven mountain counties in northwestern North Carolina.
These two
philanthropic organizations work with area nonprofits to raise funds and support for programs
addressing issues critical to local women and girls.
