From Mountains-to-Sea to dinner
The Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail invites the public to help support the construction of a statewide path by attending a benefit dinner Saturday, Nov. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Galileo’s Bar & Cafe in Boone.
The $25 fixed price meal features local ingredients and includes soup, Stick Boy bread, salad and choices of apple brandy sirloin steak, veggie pot pie or pecan-crusted chicken breast with hot raspberry jam, which will be served over mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable.
Dessert is apple crisp served with Custard Depot’s custard and coffee or tea. Dinner also includes a drink (one alcoholic beverage included).
There will be live music from Nomadic after dinner, followed by DJ Jimnotjames.
With October’s observance of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail Month just finished — along with the Watauga section of the trail — the effort now turns to maintaining the local trail and supporting construction elsewhere in the state, a Friends of the Mountain-to-Seal Trail member said.
Reservations for the dinner are required. Call Galileo’s to reserve a seat at (828) 865-9591 and, if possible, call or email an RSVP to Matt Groce, intern with FMST, at (336) 918-5611 or (grocejm@appstate.edu)
