Fine Art & Craft Show returns July 4-6
Mountain Top Promotions returns this summer with two arts and
craft shows in the Banner Elk area.
The first will be July 4, 5 and 6, Independence Day weekend, at the Old Banner Elk School, now known as A.C. Pride. Later, she will host a Labor Day show on Aug. 30 and 31.
The show will take place around the field on pavement in order to avoid potential flooding, which can be brought about by summer storms. There will be more than 60 booths of handmade arts and crafts from artists from all over the country who will be showcasing their handmade works and one-of-a-kind pieces.
This year, the Labor Day show will feature an awards day. Now, artists have the opportunity to be judged by others with experience in some of these fields of work to win cash awards and a ribbon.
This year’s show will also feature watercolor paintings, pottery, copper and black ironwork, metal yard art work, handbags, hand-painted silk scarves, hand-woven baskets, wood benches, rocking chairs, desks, shelves, handwoven rugs, photography, jewelry, hand-blown glass, wire wrap, high-end pieces with coins, pen and ink pictures, wooden vases and bowls, quilts, fused glass vases and plates, clocks, clothing, belts and so much more.
In addition, the Banner Elk Chamber will run its parade right by the show site July 4 at 11 a.m.
Also on July 4, Lees-McRae College’s wildlife rescue program will bring an assortment of wild birds that have been rescued and are being rehabilitated.
There will also be food and snack vendors. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
