Farm-City Banquet Nov. 7

“A Heritage of Innovation” is the theme of this year’s Farm-City Banquet, celebrating its 58th annual event on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. at the Boone United Methodist Church.

Each year, this event brings together members of both the city and farming communities to enjoy an old-fashioned dinner, which includes locally grown and prepared food, the presentation of special awards to area residents and “just creates a time to say hello to your neighbors, both old and new,” organizers said.

Advance tickets are required and can be purchased from the Watauga County Cooperative Extension office at 971 W. King St. in Boone. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and younger. Boone United Methodist Church is located at 471 New Market Blvd. in Boone. For more information, call (828) 264-3061.
