Eat Your Words
Back by popular demand, the Blowing Rock Art & History
Museum is again hosting an “Eat Your Words” book luncheon.
The luncheon will feature a themed catered meal and a lively discussion of Barbara Kingsolver’s book, “Flight Behavior.”
Dr. Hepsie Roskelly, professor of English at UNC-Greensboro, who led the discussion at last year’s event, will again provide insight and thought-provoking questions and comments.
Kingsolver, known for her New York Times bestselling books, such as “The Lacuna,” “The Poisonwood Bible” and “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle,” draws on her Appalachian roots in “Flight Behavior.”
The suspenseful novel is set in rural Tennessee and has received positive reviews nationwide.
The luncheon will be held Friday, Sept. 13, at noon at the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum. The cost is $40 per person. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. To reserve a seat, call (828) 295-9099 by Sept. 10.
BRAHM is located at 159 Chestnut St. in downtown Blowing Rock. For more information, visit http://www.blowingrockmuseum.org.
