Boone Area Cyclists invites the community to a day of human-powered fun.

On Sunday, Aug. 4, Howard, Depot and Rivers streets in Boone will be closed to vehicles, so community members and their families, friends and neighbors can take over on their bikes, skateboards, in-line skates, tricycles, skates or “however you move.”

Entertainment will include Freestyle Connection BMX show, Tri Force competitive youth jump rope team, Three Graces Entertainment, Recess Skate Shop and numerous musicians, martial artists and entertainers performing all day.

Local businesses, individuals and nonprofits will be on hand to demonstrate, instruct and answer questions.

Festivalgoers can learn how to Zumba or bring their kids to the Kids Bike Rally, where young riders can get a new helmet, tune up their bikes and learn cycling safety, skills and etiquette.

Folks can also participate in adult trike races, with teams of up to four members. To sign up beforehand, email (boonecyclovia@gmail.com)
