Comedian Ron White to perform Feb. 27, 2011

Grammy Award-nominated comedian Ron White will perform in Appalachian State University's Farthing Auditorium Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Jan. 11 at and the Farthing Auditorium box office, open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $15 for Appalachian students and $30 for the public. For more information, call the box office at 1-800-ARTS.

The show is for mature audiences over age 18.

The cigar-smoking funnyman from the "Blue Collar Comedy" phenomenon has had top-rated shows on Comedy Central, a Gold Record, a New York Times bestselling book and has sold more than 10 million CDs and DVDs. He also has appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson."

In 2006, Penguin Books published his "Ron 'Tater Salad' White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent...But I Didn't Have the Ability." It debuted at the No. 15 spot on the New York Times Best Seller List.
