Circle of Parents in Watauga

The Children’s Council is sponsoring two groups of Circle of Parents, a parent-led self-help group where parents can share ideas, celebrate successes and address challenges surrounding parenting.

Circle of Parents for single parents takes place Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m., and Circle of Parents for parents in recovery from substance abuse is on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments and childcare are provided at each group meeting.

These two free groups were formed for parents and other caregivers who are raising children without adequate support and for parents in recovery. Group participants discuss anything related to raising kids, including discipline, school, health and safety. Parents lead the groups, with the help of a trained facilitator.

The groups are part of the statewide Prevention Network supported by Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina.

For more information about each group, contact the Children’s Council at (828) 262-5424.
