The first episode of the Summer 2012 “Cast Iron Cook” series will be broadcast by Mountain Television Network on Friday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m.

Robert Parriott, the Cast Iron Cook, will prepare two pizzas: a white pie (ricotta cheese and garlic sauce) and a tomato sauce pizza during the 30-minute show.

Parriott will demonstrate his procedure for preparing his “mostyum” pizza dough, ricotta-garlic sauce, and homemade tomato sauce.

"Anyone interested in outdoor cooking and tailgate cooking will find this program interesting," said Parriott.

Lodge Manufacturing, corporate sponsor of “Cast Iron Cook,” has provided Parriott with the cast iron pizza pan and the cast iron charcoal grill.

“You just have to see the cast iron charcoal grill to believe how useful it is to anyone cooking in the great outdoors and at tailgating activities,” said Parriott. “And I've never seen a more useful pizza pan. It's cast iron solid."

Robert Parriott films himself cooking with Lodge cast iron cookware in his yard near Spruce Pine, NC.
The Country Gourmet kitchen and entertaining supply store located in Foscoe, near Banner Elk, NC is a sponsor of “Cast Iron Cook” and provides Parriott with culinary equipment that he uses on the program and financially sponsors the broadcasting of “Cast Iron Cook” on Mountain Television Network.
