'Breaking the Silence' on April 25
Appalachian State University's Invisible Children chapter is hosting Breaking the Silence on April 25, following the national organization's awareness drive, titled "25," which runs April 24-25.
The 25 event encourages participants to be silent for 25 hours, from April 24 at 7 p.m. to April 25 at 8 p.m., in recognition of 25 years of war that has been ongoing in central Africa, specifically Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
But at 8 p.m. on April 25, students are "Breaking the Silence," with an event on ASU's Sanford Mall that includes live music, speeches from different chapter members, and how Invisible Children is making a difference.
