Boone Service League announces upcoming events
Photographer Emily Angle is offering holiday portraits to benefit the Boone Service League.
The Boone Service League will soon be offering its annual
holiday pictures fundraising event.
Again this year, the Boone Service League is
partnering with local photographer Emily Angle to provide keepsake holiday portraits, taken at
Angle’s studio just outside Blowing Rock.
The dates for photo sessions are Sunday,
Nov. 13, from 1 to 6 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 6 p.m.; and Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 2 to 6
p.m.
The cost is $60 per photo package, which includes one 8x10, two 5x7s and eight wallet
photos.
“Angle is known for her skill in working with children and for her artistic eye,” one
of the event organizers said.
Children of all ages are welcome, so bring the whole family,
she said.
Email Nora at (shoe3make@aol.com) to schedule an appointment. Please include your
name, phone number and the hour and day on which you would like to schedule an appointment. Those
scheduling sessions will receive an email to confirm their appointment time.
Due to
the limited number of spaces available, there will be a 24-hour cancellation policy.
When participants make appointments, they will receive directions to Angle’s studio
and directional road signs will be up during the three-day event.
Holiday
Market
In addition, another upcoming Boone Service league fundraiser is its annual Holiday
Market.
Take care of your holiday gift-giving needs early this year. Boone Service League
will hold its annual Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 8 a.m. through 1 p.m. at Watauga High
School. Admission is free.
This year’s event will again be held in conjunction with
the Watauga Education Foundation’s “Flapjack Flip.”
Planners hope to offer a variety
of goods that include skin care products, stationary, baked goods, pottery, jewelry, toys, arts and
crafts, items for the home, and more.
Interested vendors are welcome to apply for a space
or to ask questions by emailing Rebecca at (bslholidaymarket@hotmail.com) Arrangements should be
made as soon as possible, but no later than Nov. 21. The charge for vendors is $25 for Boone
Service League members and $30 for nonmembers. Vendor spaces are subject to availability and
uniqueness of products.
