Blowing Rock Art and Antique Show July 30-Aug. 1
The fourth annual Blowing Rock Art and Antique Show, sponsored by the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM), will kick off at the Blowing Rock School at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, with the Early Bird Sale and Preview Party, and will continue through 5 p.m. Sunday, August 1.
Approximately 20 vendors will be in town to sell English, European and American furniture, as well as clocks, oriental rugs, china, pottery, fine silver and crystal, jewelry and more. Always a popular event, BRAHM expects a big crowd for the weekend. Last year, more than 800 people attended the sale over three days. The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission to the show will cost $10, which covers the entire weekend. Tickets are available at Carriage Trade Antiques, Finley House Antiques and the BRAHM office, or can be purchased at the door.
The Early Bird Sale and Preview Party will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, giving guests an opportunity to peruse the show before the public is admitted. Tickets are $30 and include refreshments. They may be purchased in advance at the Museum office.
In addition to the show, the weekend will feature two lectures: Lisa Castles will discuss antique silver on Friday, and Bill Brooks will offer his expertise on "The Beauty of Cut Glass" on Saturday. Both lectures begin at 9 a.m. and the cost is $20 each. Coffee and croissants will be served.
