Black is back.
Comedian Lewis Black returns to Appalachian State University Feb. 9, 2012, at Farthing Auditorium.
According to the Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS), Black’s upcoming show is per his request, with all new material special to ASU.
Tickets, which go on sale Nov. 30, cost $15 for students in advance and $25 for the public and at the door.
As a combination stand-up comedian, actor and author, Black gained popular notoriety as a commentator on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
Performing more than 200 nights a year to sold-out audiences throughout the United States, Europe, New Zealand and Canada, Black’s performances “provide a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience,” his bio reads. “Lewis yells so they don’t have to. A passionate performer who is more pissed-off optimist than mean-spirited curmudgeon, Lewis is the rare comic who can cause an audience to laugh themselves into incontinence while making compelling points about the absurdity of our world.”
