Bite into ‘The Big APPle’

It will be a festival atmosphere on the campus of Appalachian State University during Homecoming Weekend, which takes place Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5 and 6.

This year’s theme is “The Big APPle,” which is bound to inspire New York City-themed décor, costumes, parade floats and more — all in black and gold, of course.

Below is a list of events scheduled to coincide with Homecoming Weekend. Organizations and departments from around campus will also host individual activities Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit http://homecoming.appstate.edu.

Appalachian Alumni Association Friday Night Dance
Friday, Oct. 5, doors open at 8 p.m.

Tickets: $15 advance, $20 door
Featuring the Craig Woolard Band, with the best of beach music, rock ‘n’ roll and more. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Event is BYOB, 6-pack limit (or 72oz wine), so bring your ID.

Appalachian Friends Breakfast

Start the day off right with complimentary biscuits from Dan’l Boone Inn and coffee from Stick Boy Bread Co. before the parade. All Appalachian alumni and friends are welcome.

Homecoming Parade

Mountaineer Tailgate Party
Saturday, Oct. 6, 11 a.m.
Location: Duck Pond Field
Alumni, student organizations, academic departments and friends will meet at Duck Pond Field for the perfect pre-game party. Enjoy food, live music featuring 80'z Enuff, and free gifts from alumni headquarters. Stop by the big black and gold tent!
