Beech hosts Learn to Ski Challenge Poster Contest
January is National Learn to Ski Month, and Beech Mountain is
joining in the nationwide celebration with a poster contest, awarding prizes designed to grant young
winners special discounts and opportunities to get started in skiing or snowboarding.
The
Beech Mountain Learn to Ski Challenge Poster Contest is open to students in third through fifth
grades anywhere in the United States. Those students are invited to design a poster on the theme of
learning to ski or snowboard and submit it by Tuesday, Jan. 31, to Beech Mountain Resort, where
submitted posters will be displayed in the View Haus Cafeteria.
A panel of judges, consisting
of Beech Mountain Resort staff and ski instructors, will only consider two-dimensional poster
designs, such as drawings, paintings or renderings.
A first-, second- and third-place prize
will be awarded for boys and for girls. The two first-place winners will receive a beginner ski or
snowboard setup from Flow Snowboards and Atomic skis, one full day in the Beech Mountain Resort
Youth Learning Center, two additional lift tickets, and a helmet and goggle set from Scott
Sports.
The second-place winners will each receive on lift ticket, rental and a first-time,
beginner lesson.
All entries should be sent to ATTN: Poster Contest, Beech Mountain
Resort, P.O. Box 1118, Beech Mountain, N.C. 28604.
