Annual fall plant sale begins Aug. 23
The ASU Department of Biology hosts its annual fall plant sale Aug. 23-25 in Boone.

The Appalachian State University Department of Biology’s annual
fall plant sale begins Aug. 23 at the greenhouse at 333 Dale St. in Boone.
Visitors may
choose from hundreds of healthy tropical and succulent plants, many uncommon varieties, grown by
student and community volunteers. A few perennials will also be available. Prices start at $1. Only
cash and checks are accepted. Proceeds from the sale support the High Country Gardening outreach
program.
Sale hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 23 to 24, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on
Aug. 25. The greenhouse is located off State Farm Road near the student parking lot. While at the
greenhouse, visitors can stop by the biology department’s conservatory, which has more than 700
species of plants.
