The Watauga Arts Council has opened registration for its annual Summer Arts Camp, featuring Missoula Children’s Theatre.

The camp will take place June 25 to 30, held this year at Watauga High School Auditorium. Camp hours are Monday through Friday, from 9a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday (show day), from 11 a.m. until after the 6 p.m. performance.

The camp is open to rising first- through rising 10th-graders and features workshops in storytelling, music, improvisation, the visual arts and more.

The featured highlight of the arts camp is a production of “The Secret Garden,” which children will rehearse throughout the week and then perform for the community on Saturday, June 30, at 3 and 6 p.m.

Registration is $175 for the first child (which includes two tickets to the final production and a complimentary DVD) and $150 for each additional child in a family. Scholarships are available for families in need.

To register for Summer Arts Camp, or for more information, visit http://www.watauga-arts.org or contact Christy Chenausky at the Watauga County Arts Council at christy@watauga-arts.org or (828) 264-1789.
