ASU presents JAZZfest 2010 Feb. 12-25

Appalachian State University will host JAZZfest 2010, from Feb. 12-25.

The festival will feature GROOVE 8, Bafoodus, Todd Wright, John Riley, Rick Simerly and more.

According to Alan Mueller, ASU assistant director of student programs, "There is a lot to be excited about for JAZZfest 2010. From our kickoff with the Todd Wright and friends Valentine's Concert, all the way to our big final show, GROOVE 8 (band formerly known as Audioform), this year offers something for everyone."

The festival will begin at 8 p.m. on Feb. 12 with the Todd Wright and Friends Valentine's Concert.

Other notable performances include Bafoodus and the Gypsy Ninjas on Feb. 17 at Legends ($3/5), ASU Jazz Ensemble 1 with special guest John Riley on Feb. 19 in Farthing Auditorium (free), and GROOVE 8 on Feb. 25 at Legends ($4/$7).

JAZZfest is sponsored by the Department of Student Programs and the Hayes School of Music Jazz Studies Department. Support for the festival is also provided by The Blowing Rock Jazz Society, Crossroads Coffee House, the Club Shows council of APPS (Appalachian Popular Programming Society) and the Plemmons Student Union.
