Mellow Mushroom on the move
With its family-friendly atmosphere and award-winning pizza,
Mellow Mushroom is one of the most popular Blowing Rock restaurants among residents and visitors
Soon, even more people will be able to enjoy Mellow Mushroom and its wares.
Chuck Luddeke, owner of Mellow Mushroom, received unanimous approval Tuesday night from the Blowing Rock Town Council to move his restaurant from its Sunset Drive location to the Main Street building that formerly housed the Bob Timberlake Gallery.
The building is on the corner of U.S. 221 and Main Street, across from Footsloggers and the Speckled Trout.
Conversion of the Timberlake Gallery will include the addition of a walk-in freezer and storage space in the existing parking lot along U.S. 221 and the addition of a covered patio for 24 outdoor seats on the Main Street side of the building.
The outdoor seating will give the new location more seating than the current, two-story location.
The owners have leased five additional parking spaces from Vincent Properties at the Coffey Lot next to the Speckled Trout. Those five spaces will include signage to indicate that they are specifically for Mellow Mushroom customers.
The move of Mellow Mushroom in Blowing Rock will take place when the conversion of the gallery building is complete.
