Farm to Table Dinner April 6

Six premier chefs in the High Country will prepare six courses for a fundraiser for New River Organic Growers.

The dinner will be held at the New Public House & Hotel in Blowing Rock on April 6, beginning at 4 p.m. The dinner will feature chefs Andrew Long from Mast Farm Inn, Michael Foreman from The New Public House, John Dean from G’s at Gideon Ridge, Edwin Bloodworth from The Gamekeeper, Sam Ratchford from Vidalia and Nate Curtis from Rowland’s at Westglow Resort & Spa. Beer pairings will be provided by Appalachian Mountain Brewery.

Diners will get to meet the farmers who grow their food, along with the chefs, as they explain the preparation of the dishes.

New River Organic Growers is a farmers’ cooperative of the High Country, selling produce, meat, cheese and eggs. It was founded in 1998 to help farmers’ transition from tobacco. The organization has since grown into a large cooperative, selling local food to restaurants and retailers throughout the High Country and the Asheville area. NROG’s warehouse is located in Fleetwood.
