April is Beer Month in North Carolina
Here’s to beer!
April is Beer Month in North Carolina, a statewide celebration of the burgeoning craft brewing business in the state.
Festivals and special events will dot the landscape from the Outer Banks to the High Country, and Blowing Rock will join the party with events and activities all month long.
Throughout April, North Carolina brews will be featured at Six Pence Pub, Mellow Mushroom and Bistro Roca, with 10 taps dedicated to in-state brews at Foggy Rock Eatery and Pub. There will be special prices on North Carolina beers at Blowing Rock Produce & Provisions and Blowing Rock Market, as well as weekend specials at Twigs, Canyons and Foggy Rock.
The highlight of Beer Month in Blowing Rock will be the North Carolina Brews Walkabout from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. The event will feature free samples of regional North Carolina craft beers offered in several locations, and plans for music and entertainment are in the works. Maps will guide visitors to each stop and will serve as an entry form for a giveaway. Lodging packages will be available (details on website after April 1), and many will include merchandise from hosted breweries, local coupons and a special tankard made by Traditions Pottery.
Participating breweries include Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Aviator Brewing, Blind Squirrel Brewing, Boone Brewing Co., Highland Brewing Co., Howard Brewing, Olde Hickory Brewery and Oskar Blues Brewery.
