Yummy Mud Puddle at ArtWalk
With all the dogs that live in Boone, there must be a lot of leashes.
ArtWalk is offering a way to keep leashes organized while paying homage to your favorite pup, courtesy of John D. Richards of Yummy Mudd Puddle, based in Burnsville.
Richards creates hand-cast plaster dog plaques representing just about every popular breed. The plaques feature a handy hook, so owners can conveniently stow their dog’s items.
ArtWalk features Richards’ one-of-a-kind leash holders on its main floor, ideal for pooches from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and everything in between. Richards even offers a cat-style plaque for outdoorsy felines.
Apart from functional pieces, Richards also creates sculptures out of recycled materials. For more information on Richards and his work, visit http://www.yummymudpuddle.com.
Jennifer Scott Jewelry
Jennifer Scott of Greensboro joined ArtWalk in spring of 2012.
Scott makes handcrafted jewelry, using recycled vintage components, combined with a unique modern twist. Her variety at ArtWalk offers a vibrant selection of bright bracelets, sparkling rings, button earrings and crackled marble pendant necklaces.
Scott enjoys antiques, vintage items and flowers of all kinds, both real and handcrafted. While finding many materials from various thrift stores and repurposed items, Scott’s motto is, “It’s fun and rewarding to take something old and turn it into something new and beautiful.”
