Walker's Watercolors at ArtWalk
Alexander Walker's watercolors are on display at ArtWalk.
This week for Art Crawl, ArtWalk is featuring the watercolor
paintings of Alexander Walker.
Walker is the architect for Tennessee Log and Timberframe,
designing luxury vacation homes, and frequently uses his watercolor skills to offer architectural
rendering for clients. He has also lead courses in colored architectural rendering at Rend Lake
Community College in Benton, Ill.
When not painting for the world of architecture, Walker turns
to more organic and adventurous subjects. Landscapes, botanicals, animals, boating and other outdoor
activities fill out his oeuvre.
ArtWalk has on display a selection of small scale prints of
his original watercolors. Each is dressed in a unique and complementing natural wood frame. His
compositions have the detail and delicacy one would find in architectural drawing, but the gesture
and color of a spirited and professional watercolorist.
Alexander Walker's watercolors are
located on ArtWalk's lower level. With three and a half floors and more than 300 local, regional and
national artists, ArtWalk is located at 611 W. King St. (across from Mast General Store) Boone, N.C.
28607. Though ArtWalk is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 5
p.m, customers may shop all the time at the gallery's online store. ArtWalk continually welcomes new
artists of all media and ages to inquire about individual gallery booths for rent. For more
