Students showcase at ArtWalk
School’s out, but ArtWalk is in session.
This week, the downtown Boone gallery is featuring three artists, who are students attending Appalachian State University.
Geoff Woodward, Jordan Maunder and Chase Batchelor are ArtWalk’s newest artists, whose work can be found on the bottom floor.
Woodward, a biology major, specializes in landscape photography, specifically in Boone and surrounding areas. Woodward said he is passionate about finding scenic vistas and documenting them through fine art photography “in order to share the beauty that Boone and the High Country have to offer.”
Maunder, majoring in English and French, is a wedding and lifestyle photographer. Maunder said she strives to capture memorable moments of people’s lives, many of which can be found at http://www.facebook.com/JordanMaunderPhotography.
Batchelor, a geology major, said she loves spending time hiking and venturing to new places. In addition, she creates mixed media paintings of Woodward’s photography with acrylic paint. Paintings feature photographic elements mixed with painted creations over the photo surface.
