The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum's "Picture Yourself Here!" Benefit Auction will begin with a pre-auction reception at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at Blowing Rock Frameworks and Gallery.

Approximately 30 exceptional pieces from regional artists and collectors will be available for purchase. The ever-popular Cullie Tarleton will be the auctioneer for the evening.

"The proceeds from this event will support the museum's operating expenses, which includes things like electricity, office supplies, rent and salaries," said BRAHM board of trustees member and Frameworks owner Tim Miller, who is chairing the event with Clyde Williams. "We added this event to help offset the startup costs associated with the museum grand opening on Oct. 1. It is a chance to expand or begin your art collection and support the museum. It will be a fun evening."

The evening will also feature a silent auction with affordable starting bids. It is free and open to the public; wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Anyone interested in previewing the auction items may visit Blowing Rock Frameworks and Gallery, located at 7539 Valley Blvd. in the Food Lion shopping center, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday.

All donations and purchases made at the auction will be tax deductible. For more information, call (828) 295-9099.

The mission of the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum is to promote the visual arts, history and heritage of the mountains through educational programs, exhibitions and significant permanent collections. For more information, visit
