Photography in the Gallery
An Appalachian Summer Festival invites festivalgoers to join
Appalachian State University photography faculty members John Latimer and Chip Williams in an
interactive group discussion Friday, July 19.
Latimer and Williams will discuss the successful elements at play in the photography of the 10th Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition, currently on display at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts.
The workshop, to be held at the Turchin Center from 3:30 to 5 p.m., will be followed by a reception in the gallery from 5 to 6 p.m. This event is open to the public, and admission is free.
Photography in the Gallery is held in conjunction with the three-day AppState Photo Workshop, supported by Nikon Professional Services, which runs July 19 to 21.
The three-day session takes participants to the less-traveled areas of the Wilson Creek and Lost Cove Wilderness Study Areas, offering technical and aesthetic instruction and guidance along the way.
Registration, which closes July 18, costs $515. To register, or for more information, call (828) 262-3017, email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or visit http://tcva.org/workshops/id/1049.
