‘One Night, Two Moons’
High Country artist Joe Miller is well known for his art supply
company, his art classes and for his art books, such as “Joe’s Journals.”
Now, he is trying a new career as the author and illustrator of children’s books.
Miller’s new book, titled “One Night, Two Moons,” is now available at locations all over the High Country.
“One Night, Two Moons” tells the story of a grandmother whose grandchildren beg her to tell them tales of when she was a child. She tells them of a magical night on Farmer Brown’s Christmas tree farm, when two moons appeared in the sky at the same time. For some reason, this causes all of the Christmas trees to come to life. They wear colorful clothes, play musical instruments and dance around the field.
The little girl becomes friends with a Christmas tree, named TreeAnna. Their adventures continue through the night until the sun comes up, and all of the trees have to return to their stumps.
“One Night, Two Moons” combines the High Country’s tradition of growing Christmas trees for the rest of the Southeast with spirit of the Christmas season.
Joe Miller will sign copies of his new children’s book, “One Night, Two Moons,” at Boone Drug at Deerfield in Boone, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18.
The new book is for sale at numerous Boone Drug locations (Deerfield, King Street, New Market Center, Blowing Rock, Mountain City, Tenn., Sparta and Warrensville), Goober Peas on Howards Creek, Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff and all three Mast General Store locations in the High Country.
