Kluttz folk paintings at ArtWalk
ArtWalk's featured artists for this week are a husband and wife team from Salisbury.
Tim and Lisa Kluttz work and show from their home studio, St. Peter's Farm, which they share with their cats and various other inspirational animals.
The Kluttzes are self-taught folk artists who began working on pieces together after seeing the Outsider Art Collection at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Their preference for vibrant colors and their use of reclaimed wood for canvases results in a whimsical, invigorating and modern take on folk art - cats, chickens, the Statue of Liberty, and various other animals and motifs are stylized into quirky creations.
In addition to having their work displayed at their studio in Salisbury and in ArtWalk, their work has also been accepted and displayed in various galleries and art shows throughout the southeast.
The Kluttzes' paintings are located on ArtWalk's main level. With three and a half floors and more than 300 local, regional and national artists, ArtWalk is located at 611 W. King St. (across from Mast General Store) in downtown Boone. Hours are Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
