Kiwi Kreations at ArtWalk
This week, ArtWalk is featuring Kiwi Kreations, a line of
crafts by Tracie Haines.
Haines dabbles in a little bit of everything, from painting to photography to jewelry-making. Some highlights of her booth include the “Letters in Nature” photography garlands, where pictures taken locally are used to spell out “Boone” and “ASU,” and her “geek chic” gifts, including “Star Trek” canvases and “Hunger Games” jewelry.
Just in time for the holidays, Haines is also adding an assortment of Boone and ASU ornaments to her booth.
Haines moved to Boone six years ago from New Jersey and teaches full-time in the exercise science department at Appalachian State University. The name for her line of artwork comes from her rescue dog, Kiwi, who Haines said “had a rough start with two major leg surgeries, but is now very happy in her loving home.”
Kiwi’s influence can also be seen in the colorful treat and leash holders available in the booth.
