Keith Martindale Pottery at ArtWalk
ArtWalk is featuring the work of Seagrove-based pottery Keith Martindale.
This week ArtWalk in downtown Boone features Seagrove potter Keith Martindale.
According to ArtWalk, “Martindale’s pottery is remarkable for its marbled, multi-hued glazes. His pottery is functional and sturdy, but the pieces’ graceful lines qualify each mug and bowl as pieces of art. Martindale has been a potter for more than 16 years, developing signature glazes and a unique style that blends delicate form with sturdy function.”
The selection of Martindale’s pottery available at ArtWalk includes pieces in three glazes: fire, ocean, and rapid.
Fire is a golden yellow marbled with subtle shades of green, blue and orange. Ocean is a muted turquoise intermingled with blues and whites, and rapid is a deep navy swirled with sea green.
Martindale’s pottery includes the usual kitchenware, as well as decorative lanterns, serving platters, tumblers and bacon cookers, to name a few.
With three and a half floors and more than 300 local, regional and national artists, ArtWalk is located at 611 W. King St. (across from Mast General Store) in downtown Boone. Hours are Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
