Judson Guérard hand-blown glass at ArtWalk
For Art Crawl, ArtWalk will be featuring the hand blown glass ornaments of Judson Guérard.
Not only for Christmas trees, these translucent orbs also make great window hangings, featuring a large array of spring colors just in time for Mother's Day.
His unique method of hand blowing results in an intricate webbed network of color and texture across the surface of each piece. Guérard's ornaments come in a variety of shapes, all at an affordable price.
Guérard has an MA in comparative East-West philosophy, with a specialization in aesthetics, from the University of Hawaii, and has taken part in numerous supplemental education programs, including the Penland School of Crafts.
Guérard works out of a studio in Bakersville, very close to the Penland School of Crafts. He has exhibited or has work in galleries in North Carolina, California, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Vermont, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia and Virginia.
Judson Guérard's ornaments are located on ArtWalk's main level in the front window. With three and a half floors and more than 300 local, regional and national artists, ArtWalk is located at 611 W. King St. (across from Mast General Store) in downtown Boone. Hours are Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
