Jewelry by Sandra Vawter at ArtWalk
This week, ArtWalk is featuring one of its newest jewelers, Sandra Vawter.
Vawter was born, raised and continues to live in Lexington, where she currently works for National Wholesale Company Inc. She also has a business called The Beary Patch, where she makes a variety of teddy bears and clothing for them.
In addition to making teddy bears, Vawter practices wood burning and has taught wood burning classes through DCCC as a craft assistant. She was a member of the Davie Craft Association for 20 years and made several items for the craft shows including plaques, stools and other crafts.
She also weaves, making rugs, pillows, and tote bags. After practicing a wide variety of art forms she has now come to jewelry making.
Vawter has a large selection of her jewelry for sale at ArtWalk, including earrings, bracelets, necklaces and lockets. Her pieces are made using delicately sized glass, metal and gemstone beads.
The glass beads, which make up the majority of the pieces, are unique in their quality and detail. Many of the glass beads are gracefully enhanced by iridescent foil or crackling.
She offers a wide variety of colors and color combinations, including several oranges and olive greens, perfect for fall.
