Holiday Weekends at Anvil Arts
Bill Brown’s sculptures and functional works are available at Anvil Arts Studio in Linville Falls.
The Anvil Arts Studio, Sculpture Garden & Gallery in
Linville Falls will be open weekends for the holiday season.
Anvil Arts Studio is the
working studio of artist Bill Brown and also features outdoor sculpture gardens and the studio
gallery. Along with the sculpture, lighting and paintings of Bill Brown, the gallery space has a
special exhibit of artwork by area artists in a range of mediums from pottery to grapevine baskets.
Brown has created work in this studio for more than 30 years, and his work can be found in
public and private collections throughout the United States. Brown’s work has been featured in
invitational exhibitions, competitions, gallery shows, museum exhibitions and publications,
including a recent PBS documentary.
“I am not regularly in the studio on the
weekends,” Brown said, “but now that the Linville Falls Winery is open across the street – and they
will soon be selling Christmas trees and wreaths, as well – I wanted to give people an opportunity
to visit the studio during weekend hours.”
The work of a variety of other artists presents an
eclectic mix of art on display, and there are many items Brown said would be great for holiday
gifts. Two popular gift items created in the studio are Brown’s forged steel rhododendron candle
holders and his barbecue skewer sets.
Visitors are welcome to stop by the galley and gardens
each Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 22. The Anvil Arts Studio is located at 9600 Linville Falls
Highway (U.S. 221). For more information, call (828) 765-6226 or visit
