Embracing the Light
The 29th Winter Exhibition at Carlton Gallery includes a “Small Works” exhibition along with selected featured artists in an exhibition called “Embracing the Light.”
The “Small Works” exhibit consists of original small works of art on canvas and paper, glass, sculpture, wood, pottery, woven wearable art and fine jewelry by the local, regional and national artists represented by the gallery.
The featured artists’ exhibit includes a collection of artworks in various media on canvas and paper that emanate the feeling of “Embracing the Light.” A few of the artists selected, including Mike Grady, Toni Carlton, Anderson Giles, Debbie Arnold, Andrew Braitman and Vae Hamilton, along with other gallery artists, will exhibit their own interpretation in various media of the winter season and the theme.
Artists Freeman Beard, Holt McLean, Kevin Beck and Sharon Rusch Shaver capture the winter landscape with confidence and grace.
During the Holiday Open House Nov. 25 and 26, the gallery is filled with gifts for the holidays, including small wood bowls of contrasting bands by Robert Gunther, small secret boxes with solid wood inlays by Heartwood Creations, turned and hand-carved wood bowls by Allan Hollar, recycled and assembled glass candle holders by Fred Mead and hardwood drums by Michael Thiele, along with designer and handcrafted jewelry by Mia Katrin, Laura Fly and Don Haywood.
Miniature original paintings by Jossie Fox Nichols, Kate Worm, Charlotte Foust and Betsy Bohrer bring an added flair to the gift selections at the gallery, along with other small works on canvas by many of the gallery artists.
