Cheryl Roberts featured at Hands Gallery
Fiber artist Cheryl Roberts is this month’s featured member at Hands Gallery.
Hands Gallery, the area’s oldest artist-owned cooperative gallery, is celebrating its 38th year in the High Country.
Hands represents 18 local member artists working together to present some of the area’s finest arts and crafts.
During February, Hands will feature one of its newest members, fiber artist Cheryl Roberts.
Roberts joined the Hands family in July 2012 and is currently exhibiting rug hooking and knitting in the front window of the gallery. She also has an extensive display inside the gallery.
Roberts is a North Carolina regional artist winner for 2012 and 2008 for her rug hooking. She teaches and exhibits at the Florence Thomas Art School in West Jefferson and also in Asheville. She also exhibits regularly at the Ashe County Arts Center and will be at the Watauga County Arts Council gallery in April for a group rug show.
In addition to Roberts’ work, Hands will also be celebrating Valentine’s Day all month with many heartfelt creations. Hands Gallery is located at 543 W. King St. in downtown Boone.
