Carmichael photos at ArtWalk
Dan Carmichael’s photography is being showcased at ArtWalk.
Dan Carmichael is a professional fine art photographer whose
work is featured this week at ArtWalk. Carmichael is a Southern California native who moved to North
Carolina in the early 1980s and, captivated by the state’s natural beauty, has never left. His
scenic portraits of mountain landscapes reflect the beauty of this area in brilliant color and
detail.
Carmichael began his photography career as an L.A.-area photojournalist, but now he
prefers to document the turning of the leaves and other natural phenomena. Among his work, one can
find fine art landscapes to bring a bit of nature indoors.
In addition to traditional
digital images, Carmichael uses a technique called PhotoArt, in which his images are manually
brushed to give them a painterly look. More of his work can be viewed online at
http://www.picturenorthcarolina.com.
Dan Carmichael’s photography can be found on the Mezzanine
level of ArtWalk, located at 611 W. King St. in downtown Boone. The gallery will be running a
special sale event from Friday, Nov. 25, through Monday, Nov. 28. Regular hours are Monday through
Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
