Bruce Cole photography at ArtWalk
ArtWalk is currently featuring the natural photography of the Tennessee native Bruce Cole.
Cole was raised on a small farm in New Tazwell, Tenn., which initiated his respect for the natural world. He later earned a bachelor's degree in wildlife management from Tennessee Tech University and a master's degree in forest resources from Clemson University, which led him to an occupation as the Natural Resources Manager for Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, Tenn.
While earning his initial degree, Cole minored in journalism, which included a course in journalistic photography. For the past 25 years, he has maintained a passion for photography.
He began his photography company, Natural Horizons Photography, in 2005. This perfect fusion of his two passions, nature and photography, now supports a variety of landscapes, numerous animal species (especially birds), sunsets, seasonal shots, rustic structures (such as farms and cabins), waterfalls, and streams.
Though Cole has shots from around the United States, the majority of his subjects were found in Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina. He captures elements from nature and bits of the Appalachian region, with dazzling clarity of detail, rich hue and striking composition.
At ArtWalk, Cole is offering a variety of sizes, including 8x10-inch matted prints, 11x14-inch matted prints and several large-format, framed and matted pieces.
Bruce Cole's photographs are located on ArtWalk's main level. With three and a half floors and more than 300 local, regional and national artists, ArtWalk is located at 611 W. King St. (across from Mast General Store) Boone, N.C. 28607.
