BRAHM presents Gallery Share Project

‘Still Life with Orange’ by Elliott Daingerfield

For 2013, the Blowing Rock Art & Historic Museum resolved to involve more local artists in its exhibition efforts.

To achieve this resolution, the museum has selected five regional galleries to assist in a new program – the Gallery Share Project.

The initiative will provide the Community Meeting Room Gallery to area galleries for two months of the year to use as a satellite gallery and to display the work of their represented artists. Participating galleries include Blowing Rock Frameworks and Gallery, Art Cellar, Alta Vista Gallery, Carlton Gallery and Wilkes Art Gallery.

“The CMR Gallery is one of the largest galleries in the museum and has an ideal hanging system, which facilitates displaying framed works of art,” BRAHM director Joann Mitchell said.

Tim Miller, owner of Blowing Rock Frameworks and Gallery, will showcase the works of 13 artists during the month of April, including pieces from William McCullough, George Snyder, Elliott Daingerfield, Edigio Antonaccio, Fred Sprock, Lita Gatlin, Wes Waugh and Pat Pilkington.

Since 1994, Blowing Rock Frameworks and Gallery has helped to enhance the residences of the High Country with fine art and framing.

“We look forward to sharing the beautiful paintings and works on paper on display in the CMR this month,” Mitchell said. “We hope our members and visitors will stop by to see this superb example of locally produced art.”

The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum is located at 159 Chestnut St. in downtown Blowing Rock. For more information, call (828) 295-9099, or visit
