ArtWalk gets the glitz on with Kelly Colleen
ArtWalk is always changing, as the downtown Boone gallery continually adds new artists to its lineup.
One such artist is Kelly Colleen, a jewelry designer who lives and works in New Orleans, La. Since childhood, Colleen wanted to be an artist, and, after the birth of her first child in 2000, she decided to turn her hobby into her full time profession.
To achieve this goal, Colleen drew on her 15 years of experience in marketing and sales management and her ongoing passion for designing.
Colleen keeps her jewelry line new and exciting. She claims that just as she is constantly evolving, so is her jewelry. Her favorite materials are Swarovski crystals, Swarovski pearls and sterling silver, as they offer an endless number of creation combinations.
Her most popular items, a new arrival at ArtWalk, are her stretch rings. These rings are made of sterling silver, Swarovski crystals and pearls on an elastic ring band. The rings are fit for any wearer, as they stretch to fit any finger.
"Whether looking for the perfect gift or the perfect self-indulgence, stop by ArtWalk to see our wide variety unique pieces," a gallery spokesperson said.
Kelly Colleen is only one of ArtWalk's 300 local, regional and national artists represented in the 9,500 square foot gallery, on three floors housed in a completely renovated historic building in the heart of downtown Boone.
To join the ArtWalk gallery, interested parties should ask about individual gallery booths available for rent. ArtWalk is located at 611 W. King St. (across from Mast General Store) in downtown Boone, open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 p.m. to 5 p.m.
