ArtWalk features Nancy Ford
Nancy Ford loves leather.
And as this month’s featured artist, she’s sharing the love at ArtWalk.
A self-trained leather worker, fetish carver and native-inspired artist, Ford has put her skills to work in numerous leather cuffs, handbags and clutches at ArtWalk.
Ford lives in Happy Valley, which she said suits her love of nature and “allows her to pursue a peaceful existence, surrounded by animals.”
When not spending time with her partner, Jesse, or caring for her elderly mother, Ford collects gems, minerals and artifacts — a hobby, she said, that lends inspiration for several of her bracelet designs, featuring real gemstones set onto the leather.
Bracelet designs range from simple bands of plain leather to complex cuffs sporting metal work or found objects.
