Art Cellar ready for summer
The Art Cellar Gallery in Banner Elk is in full swing for a
busy, art filled season.
The gallery will present six exhibitions, featuring 10 different artists from June through November.
The popular Saturday Coffee Talks are back and have been extended to every Saturday in June, July and August, from 10 a.m. to noon. Visitors may stop in the gallery and share a cup of coffee with a different Art Cellar Gallery artist each Saturday and learn more about them and their artwork.
Kicking off this month’s festivities will be a coffee talk with sculptor Bill Brown.
Brown’s sculptures can be found in collections throughout the country and range from large-scale outdoor works to graceful glass and steel creations for interiors.
Also starting this month is Jim Chapman’s exhibition, “Is it Still…Life?” This show will feature colorful fruits, flowers, landscapes and other subjects in acrylic on canvas.
The works of Chapman will show from June 11 to 28. The artist’s reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 13.
The full season schedule can be found online at http://www.artcellaronline.com, along with up-to-date information on artists and new works.
