Alta Vista Valentines
Gallery hours are currently 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Lost your heart for Valentine’s Day this year? Maybe a gift
that is unique and handmade will bring some cheer, or maybe even a gift for yourself or for your
loved ones.
Either way, Alta Vista Gallery in Valle Crucis is full of ideas.
“No
matter what your budget is, Alta Vista has gifts to help you show your friends and loved ones that
you care,” gallery owner Maria Santomasso-Hyde said.
Among the gallery’s options are
hand-wrought jewelry, pottery and stained glass, as well as paintings small and large, the smaller
items affordably priced and the larger available on layaway, Santomasso-Hyde said.
Of the
silver jewelry crafted by Patti Brown, Santomasso-Hyde said, one particular necklace simply cries
out to be a Valentine’s Day gift: hand-wrought silver heart pendants filled in with gemstones, for
around $40. Brown also creates cross necklaces with gemstones for about $50.
“Finding great
gifts to give to men is difficult, but we even have ideas for that, because men love kaleidoscopes,
as well as the hand-turned wooden bowls by Boone craftsman Mike Flanigan, who works with local
woods,” Santomasso-Hyde said.
Gallery hours are currently 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and
Saturdays. However, Santomasso-Hyde said she’s happy to open the gallery any other days, or
evenings, to accommodate customers’ schedules.
Alta Vista Gallery is located 15 minutes from
Boone at 2839 Broadstone Road in Valle Crucis, between Mast Farm Inn and Mast Store
Annex.
